traditional Japanese world-view. The story tells of a group of samurai who were
left leaderless (became ronin) after their master, Lord Asano (Sawamura Ikki)
was forced to commit ritual suicide for assaulting a court official, Lord Kira (Ito
Shiro), who earlier insulted him. Oshishi Kuranosuke (Matsudaira Ken) leads the
ronin in an effort to seek revenge for their beloved Lord's wrongful death. This box

"Shinsengumi!" focuses on a group of young samurai who were hoping for bright

assassinating the shogunate supporters. Their strong will would often collide
with one another which eventually caused the era to move from the feudal Edo
period to the modern Meiji era. The drama presented the glory and fall of the men

footsteps of Shinsengumi as seen by Mitsu, elder sister of Soji Okita who is one
